I first stumbled across Brendan on Reddit. A mad ultralight wizard hand-crafting carbon fiber tent stakes in his garage and claiming they were the lightest on earth. Bold claim. Naturally, I bought one of his very first prototypes to see if he was full of magic or full of it.

Turns out: magic. These things held up my tent like…well, like a thru-hiker holds up a conversation about gear weight. Effortlessly and for way too long.

After the set he sent me, the prototyping snowballed. Brendan tested batch after batch, eventually taking the final pre-production version on an extended trek through the Peruvian Andes. After he came back he messaged me saying, “I’ve got twenty batches ready to go.” I nearly choked on my instant mashed potatoes.

The legend has evolved.

After three months of beating them up in the Andes, these little ultralight toothpicks of joy now feature:
